Nippon Steel dokončila akvizici společnosti U.S. Steel, významnou roli sehrál Donald Trump

(Reuters) – Akvizice společnosti U.S. Steel společností Nippon Steel v hodnotě 14,9 miliardy dolarů byla ve středu dokončena, oznámily obě společnosti, což potvrzuje neobvyklou moc prezidenta Donalda Trumpa po 18 měsících snah japonské společnosti o dokončení akvizice.

Podle podmínek dohody koupila společnost Nippon 100 % akcií společnosti U.S. Steel za 55 dolarů za akcii, jak původně uvedla ve své nabídce z prosince 2023 na koupi známého, ale finančně strádajícího výrobce oceli.

Společnosti také zveřejnily podrobnosti dohody o národní bezpečnosti uzavřené s vládou, která dává Trumpovi pravomoc jmenovat člena představenstva a také neekonomickou zlatou akcii.

Mluvčí Bílého domu Kush Desai označil dohodu za historickou a uvedl, že zlatá akcie „ochrání národní a ekonomickou bezpečnost Ameriky“.
